Taskin-Farhad in for Ireland Tri-nation series?


Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed and bowling all-rounder Farhad Reza is likely to be included in the upcoming tri-nation series in Ireland.

Taskin hopeful of better performance in first Test
Taskin Ahmed and Farhad Reza have not been considered for the tri-nation series neither in the upcoming World Cup. However, according to reports, the duo are likely to be included in the squad for the tri-nation series, consisting Windies and Ireland.

Chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu told Bdcrictime – “Taskin and Reza are in our consideration for the upcoming tri-nation series. But it’s not confirmed yet that they will be included or not.”

However, Taskin said that he doesn’t yet know anything about his chances of getting picked up in the tri-nation series.

“I don’t know anything about this matter. I didn’t have any conversation with the selectors. I will be present in the training session tomorrow,” he said.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have announced 17-man squad for the tri-nation series. Taskin was well in line for getting a place in the World Cup squad after performing consistently in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). But an injury ruined it all in the end.

The selection panel said Taskin is not match fit yet and it was the reason behind his exclusion from the World Cup squad.

Tri-nation series squad: Mashrafe Mortaza (capt), Liton Das, Mohammad Mithun, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Mahmudullah, Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Mohammad Saifuddin, Abu Jayed, Mustafizur Rahman, Rubel Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Sabbir Rahman, Mosaddek Hossain, Yasir Ali, Nayeem Hasan.
