Bangladesh were totally a spin-dependent team in the past. That spin reliance is slowly diminishing, as the pacers are emerging to watch. Mustafizur Rahman has been there for a long time. Now Shoriful Islam, Ebadot Hossain, Khaled Ahmed are ruling the national team. Shohidul Islam, young cricketer like Rejaur Rahman Raja are in the pipeline.
All in all, it can be said that the fast bowlers’ revolution has been started in Bangladesh cricket. And Shakib is giving credit to star fast bowler Taskin Ahmed for this majestic rise of fast bowlers in Bangladesh which is known as the paradise of spinners.
Taskin has worked hard on himself while out of the national team. He also got the result. The 27-year-old pacer is now the main pacer of the team in all three formats. Shakib thinks that Taskin has not only found his own way, he has also shown the way to other fast bowlers.
Praising the pacers of the Bangladesh team, Shakib said,
“The pace bowlers have been bowling well for the last many days. There is a lot of effort between them, this is what is most needed. They believe they can bring a lot of changes. They try, plan a lot. They are trying to do something by planning together, which is why they are actually being so successful.”
Shakib gave the main credit for the success of the pacers to Taskin. In his words, “A big credit goes to Taskin. In two or three years, Taskin has shown how a pace bowler can grow or move forward and improve grammatically. I think many people follow him. That's a big reason why our pace bowlers are doing so well.”
“Maybe no one has worked so hard before, no one has bowled with the same pace in 30-40 overs continuously match after match. It hasn't really happened much before, until Taskin did. To give Taskin a lot of credit, I think he has a big role to play in changing that thinking.”
