Taskin texted selectors and BCB President before World Cup selection!

Taskin Ahmed was not selected in the 15-man World Cup squad by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) considering the fact that he is not match fit yet.

At last the inevitability of being out of the fitness has shattered the dreams of pacer Taskin Ahmed to be in the World Cup.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the much awaited World Cup squad on Tuesday where uncapped Abu Jayed Rahi was picked over Taskin Ahmed.

A week before the announcement of the World Cup, the rumour was in the air that Taskin is unlikely to make it to the squad. And it turned into a reality on Tuesday as the fast bowler was not even considering for the upcoming tri-nation series in Ireland.

The fast bowler was seen broken into tears while talking to the media at the Shere-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium after the announcement of the squad.

Meanwhile, a new controversy involving Taskin has hit the road. According to JagoNews24, Taskin has sent messages to the BCB selectors requesting him to pick him in the World Cup squad before the announcement. He tried to melt the heart of the selectors and even texted the board President Nazmul Hassan Papon.

According to a BCB official, it was known that Taskin sent messages to Minhajul Abedin Nannu, Akram Khan, Habibul Bashar and Nazmul Hassan Papon.

But in the end, Taskin was not picked even for the tri-nation series, let alone the World Cup. It is now needless to say that an obvious question arises, was it BCB’s initial plan to not pick him in both the tri-nation and the World Cup squad or did Taskin’s behaviour triggered the selectors to take this harsh decision?
