Taylor and Masakadza ruled out of UAE series
Zimbabwe batsman Brendan Taylor and captain Hamilton Masakadza are set to miss the upcoming series in UAE due to injury.
Zimbabwe have been hit with a massive blow as they will without their key batsman and skipper in the forthcoming four-match ODI series against UAE due to injury.
Zimbabwe Cricket announced on Sunday that the duo had not sufficiently recovered from injuries sustained in February. According to reports, Peter Moon will lead the side in Masakadza’s absence.
During the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Taylor tore his right calf muscle while playing for Lahore Qalandars while Masakadza is nursing a thumb injury sustained during a domestic match in February.
Meanwhile, uncapped duo of Ainsley Ndlovu and Tony Munyonga made the 16-man squad for the series, while Timycen Maruma and Regis Chakabva have returned following their lengthy absence from ODI cricket.
This will the first time ever the UAE will play a Full Member country in a bilateral series and the first ODI is set take place on April 10.
