Team India physio and conditioning coach quit after semi-final exit


The Indian team physiotherapist Patrick Farhart and conditioning coach Shankar Basu have made respective exits from the national team following India’s 18-run defeat against New Zealand in the semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

According to reports revealed in the Indian media, both of them informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India that they are not willing to continue their responsibility with the national side.

Immediately after the semi-final match match ended, physio Farhart tweeted saying, “Whilst my last day with the team did not turn out as I wanted it to, I would like to thank @BCCI for the opportunity to work with the team for the last 4 years. My best wishes to all of the players and support staff for the future #TeamIndia.”

However, it is learnt that BCCI has decided to replace Sohum Desai in spot of conditioning coach Shankar Basu.
