The dressing room has 60 years of experience now: Sujon

After the departure of Chandika Hathurusingha, many reports suggest that the dressing room of Bangladesh is more calm and relaxed now. It has been know that Hathurusingha used to be very strict with the players and used to take decisions all by his own. And, it made the dressing room unstable.

The skipper Mashrafe Min Mortaza himself said in a press conference that the dressing room is now normal. When the same question was asked to the technical director Khaled Mahmud Sujon, he said the dressing room has 60 years of experience now.

He said in the press conference: “The players have to take the on field decisions. They are very experienced. I think combining Shakib, Tamim, Mashrafe, Mushfiq and Riyad Bangladesh’s dressing room has now 60 years of experience. They have the capability to take decisions. They all captained in the national team or in any domestic team.”

Sujon added: “We send messages from dug out. When we think we should, we send messages. If they want to listen that, they listen. But actually it is their job to take decisions as they are the one playing in the field.”

About Shakib and Mashrafe: “Mashrafe is a very experienced cricketer and so as Shakib. It’s better if they take the decisions. Sometimes the players forget about some things when they go in the field, it is our job to make them remember. I think its a cricketers’ game. They play well in the field, that’s why Bangladesh do well. So its their right to take decisions.”

When asked if players are more comfortable in dressing room now: “The players can answer it better. But I think, the dressing room is very confident now. We try to involve our players in everything. We gave them this right. The dressing room didn’t change, its just they might have got little more freedom now.”
