Obviously in the absence of Rohit Sharma, the left-handed opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan will be the go through opening batsman considering his experience and past records in Australia. Even though he had some bad games in the past, it will be a wise move to go with him.

Along with him, for the safer side, India might go with KL Rahul. He is another prominent opener for India. Always he was in the race for the spot. But in recent times, he had a shift in a role in the batting lineup of the team.

He is serving the role of a finisher. But for the safer side, the management might be willing to go with the experience of Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul for the opening spot.
