They clinched the title of the three match one day series by having an unassailable 2 – 0 lead; Bangladesh beat India by 6 wickets in the second match today at the ‘Home of cricket’ Mirpur Sher – E – Bangla National Stadium.

Chasing a rather paltry target of 199 runs which was curtailed from the original target of 201 runs by the rain rules, Bangladesh batsmen took a lee way from the beginning of the innings.

World number one all rounder Shakib Al Hasan hammered an unbeaten knock of 51 runs and aristocratic Sabbir hit the winning single to land the ship of the tigers in the port of the victory.

Opener Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar cluttered the Indian bowling at the beginning of the innings by flicking it here and there. Tamim (13 off 21 balls; 4×3) lost his wicket rather early this time.

Soumya Sarkar and Litton Kumar Das put up a 52 run second wicket partnership after Bangladesh lost the first wicket in 34 runs. Litton was calculative in his effort to mark up some good contributions for the team.

Soumya punches the deliveries of B Kumar and D Kulkarni on his way to 34 runs in 47 balls. He was trapped by Ravichandran Ashwin in the leg in the 16th over of the match.

However the young wicket keeper batsman thrashed 5 deliveries to cross the boundary line in his 36 runs (41 balls). He was cleverly picked up by MS Dhoni from behind the wicket off a delivery of Axar Patel.

Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan conjoined in the middle of the wicket to guide Bangladesh to the port of the victory. Mushfiqur’s vibrant batting came to an end unfortunately at the first ball of the 29th over when he was caught short of the crease by a nice throw from Rohit Sharma.

Mushfiqur hit 3 boundaries in his innings of 31 with a single trade mark six over the mid wicket.

Earlier in the monsoon tinged afternoon, young Mustafizur Rahman cut through the Indian batting line up with his world record breaking 6 wicket haul in the second one day match of his career.
