Toby Radford named Bangladesh HP team coach
He will start his work with HP team’s upcoming tour of Sri Lanka. Radford will replace Simon Helmut as the coach of HP team.
“We have appointed Toby Radford as our next HP coach,” BCB HP chairman Naimur Rahman Durjoy told Cricbuzz.
“He (Radford) will be available for 100 days in a year. Initially we have appointed him for a year and after assessing his performance we will increase it further,”
Radford will set foot in Bangladesh with a wealth of experience in his coaching career. He has experience as a head coach at cricket academies around the world. He had also been the batting coach of West Indies national team.
However, the Welsh cricket coach never played for national team. Also he has less experience in first-class and List A cricket. But in his coaching career, he has enough experience and good acquaintance.
The 48-year old Radford will join the team before Bangladesh’s tour of Sri Lanka next month. The national team will play Test series in Sri Lanka. BCB has decided to send HP team to play practice match among themselves. Radford will accompany HP team in this tour. HP team will also play two 4-day match and one 5-day match against Sri Lanka emerging team.
Bangladesh will depart for Sri Lanka on September 23. The first Test of the series is scheduled to held on October 24.
