IPL is the most-watched domestic cricket tournament in the world. The league has been ever so entertaining, thrilling and always managed to keep the fans at the edge of their seats.
This is what makes the IPL sporting festival ever so special. The IPL kick-started in the year 2008 and since then the league has seen teams winning the title on one or more than one occasion.
There have been unfortunate circumstances where a team lost three IPL finals and failed to win a title since the inception of IPL. Yes, it is Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The other two franchises who are yet to make a serious bid for the title are Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab. Delhi Capitals haven’t reached the final in IPL while Kings XI Punjab managed to reach one final.
Mumbai Indians are the most successful team in the history of IPL. Rohit Sharma-led team have won the title on four occasions while MS Dhoni-led CSK are the second-best team so far.
They managed to win the title on three occasions. However, CSK are the most consistent team in IPL as they have never failed to reach the IPL play-offs.
Kolkata Knight Riders have won the IPL two times while Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals won one title each. The now-defunct franchise, Deccan Chargers won the IPL once.
It is indeed a frustrating journey for Rajasthan Royals as they haven’t made giant strides in the tournament ever since winning the inaugural edition of the IPL.

10. Most IPL finals
There is no other team in the history of IPL that has been able to match CSK’s consistency. Chennai Super Kings are the solitary team who have reached 8 IPL finals, the most by any team in IPL.
They are the most consistent team as well. Under MS Dhoni’s captaincy, they reached eight finals out of ten IPL seasons and have won three titles.
