Team Bangladesh

Bangladesh are currently at number seven in ODI rankings with 95 ratings. They started the year with 98, but lost three ratings by losing an ODI to Afghanistan and losing series to England. They had a chance to jump up to number six by beating the Afghans by 3-0 and England by 2-1. In that case, they could have 102 ratings.

Bangladesh are now in New Zealand to play three ODIs starting from the Boxing Day. If they win by 3-0, they will reduce the difference with number seven team Sri Lanka. The Lankans have 101 ratings with them.

Sri Lanka have five-match away ODI series with South Africa. Bangladesh have to expect Sri Lanka to lose by 0-5 or even 1-4. If Sri Lanka lose by 0-5, their rating will be 98. Or, if they lose by 1-4, the rating will stand at 100 which will still do the work for Bangladesh as they played less matches (from 2013-14 season) compared to them.

Bangladesh’s New Zealand tour will begin on 26th December at Hagley Oval, Christchurch. The last two ODIs will be played on 29th and 31st at Saxton Oval, Nelson.
