Towhid’s ton cruises Bangladesh U19 to series victory
Another eventful day for Bangladesh U19 team as they clinch the five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka U19 courtesy of an outstanding knock by Towhid Hridoy once again.
There is no stopping from Towhid Hridoy as he scored yet another ton to guide Bangladesh U19 to a series victory against Sri Lanka U19. Akbar Ali also made a healthy contribution of 66*, which made the target of 261 all too easy for the youngsters.
The visitors elected to bat first after winning the toss. They posted 260 runs with the loss of 7 wickets. Dinushar’s 43 was the highest score for the side as almost all the batsmen in the top-order made small, but healthy contribution to the team.
Tanzim Hasan Sakib was the most successful bowler for Bangladesh as he picked up three wickets. Shamim Hossain and Rakibul Hasan picked up one wicket each,
In reply, the man in form Towhid started off from where he left in the last game. With 9 fours and 3 sixes, he scored 105 runs while skipper Akbar chipped in with an unbeaten knock of 66.
Towhid departed on 115, but he made sure Akbar and co get Bangladesh over the line comfortably. With this win, the youngsters lead the series 4-0 with one ODI still to go.
