Tribute to Tigers: 'Egiye Jao Bangladesh' by BCSA

From 1997 ICC Trophy to year 2016. There have been many changes in Bangladesh cricket between this period. Bangladesh achieved their Test status in 2000 after they beat Scotland and Pakistan in their debut World Cup in 1999.

There have been some ups and downs in Tigers journey. The first Test win came in 2005 against Zimbabwe in Chittagong. Tigers knocked India out of the World Cup in 2007 and stunned South Africa in the same tournament’s Super Eight stage.

In the same year, Bangladesh beat West Indies to reach Super Eight stage of World T20 2007.

That’s how Bangladesh started beating the big teams. The Tigers beat England in the 2011 World Cup at home which was a historic match for Bangladesh. Bangladesh played in the Finals of 2012 (ODI) and 2016 (T20I) Asia Cup.

Last year, Bangladesh knocked England out of the World Cup to reach the Quarter Finals for the first time. In the same year, Bangladesh won series against Pakistan, India and South Africa.

Bangladesh have recently completed their 100 ODI wins. In the journey of many successes, the men in red and green faced some tough times. But they bounced back.

The fans of Bangladesh can be named as ’12th man’. Their supports hugely inspires the team and it inspires Bangladesh to play well and win matches.
