TSM wins Afghan broadcasting bid

Bangladeshi company Total Sports Marketing (TSM) has won the bid for broadcasting Afghanistan’s international and domestic matches worldwide for five years (2018-2023).

TSM will broadcast all Afghanistan international games (bilateral series, ICC events and multi-national series) and also domestic tournaments (Afghanistan Premier League and One Day National Cup).

Afghanistan’s next series is against Bangladesh which consists three T20 Internationals in Dehradun. TSM will broadcast the matches live. They will play their maiden Test against India in Bangalore in mid-June.

The representatives who were present in the agreement signing ceremony: Shukrullah Atif Mashal, chairman of Afghanistan Cricket Board, Md Moinul Haque Chowdury, CEO of Total Sports Marketing, Shafiqullah Stanikzai, CEO of Afghan Cricket Board; Faridur Reza Sagar, managing director, Impress Telefilms, Aman Ashraf Faiz, managing director of host broadcaster Gazi Satellite Television (GTV), and Ziauddin Adil, CEO of TOP of MIND.

Afghanistan’s rise in the world cricket has been noticeable in past few years. They made their World Cup debut in 2015 in Australia and New Zealand. Last year they were granted Test status along with Ireland, who already have made their Test debut.

Afghanistan recently won the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe to earn World Cup tickets with runners-up Windies for next year.

Afghanistan are ranked No.8 in the ICC T20I rankings while they are tenth in ODI rankings but not too far behind the Windies.
