Twitter hails Yasir after picking up 14 wickets against New Zealand
Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah has been the lone highlight of the second Test against New Zealand as he picked up 14 wickets and became only the third bowler in the history of Test cricket to achieve this feat.
Coming into the second Test match, Pakistan were in all sorts of pressure after a heartbreaking defeat in the first match. And the pressure became double when they were criticized for declaring in the first innings after they scored 418 runs with the loss of 5 wickets.
But Yasir alone became the solution to every problem and finished the Test match in the fourth day, courtesy of his magical bowling. He dominated the Kiwis in both the innings and gave no chance for them to make a comeback into the game.
The leg-spinner picked up 8 wickets in the first innings including 4 wickets in an over and then went onto picking up another 6 wickets in the second innings to ensure a comprehensive victory for Pakistan by an innings and 96 runs.
Here’s how Twitter reacted after Yasir’s record-breaking performance with the ball:
Insane numbers for Yasir Shah. He has 195 wickets in 32 Tests. World Record for fastest to 200 wickets is 36 matches by Clarrie Grimmett set some 82 years ago! Yasir could beat this record by three fewer Tests!!! #PakvNZ

“I am remembering my mother today … she used to pray for me and when I used to ask her to pray five wickets for me she would say,” why not ask for ten or 14….” Yasir Shah

So Yasir shah needs five wickets in three matches to become fastest to 200 test wickets and break 82 year old record of Australia’s Clarrie Grimmett who crossed the milestone in 36 matches. Should be a cake walk since the chap is on a record breaking spree. #PAKvsNZ #PAKvNZ
