Twitter reacts to boy stealing the ball after MS Dhoni hitting ‘gigantic’ six to the streets of Sharjah

Former India batsman Gautam Gambhir has slammed Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper, MS Dhoni for  poor captaincy and coming to bat at number seven position. The former batsman also urged him to lead from the front as the CSK side lost their second match by 16 runs while chasing a target of 216 against Rajasthan Royals.

Chennai Super Kings were not in control of the match as they lost the game by just 16 runs. The duo of Faf du Plessis and MS Dhoni smashed the sixes all over the park at the death over but they could not chase the target.

Everyone thought that Chennai Super Kings are the clear favourites for their game against Rajasthan Royals. But, Steve Smith-led Rajasthan posted a massive total of 216 for 7 on their board.

The skipper made an interesting move and came to open the innings for his franchise. Even though they lost Jaiswal cheaply, Steve Smith and Sanju Samson smashed the Chennai Super Kings bowling attack all over the park. The wicket-keeper batsman scored a 19-ball fifty and went on to score 74 runs from just 32 balls with the help of 9 sixes and a four. On the other hand, Steve Smith smashed boundaries without taking risks.

The skipper managed to score 69 off 47 deliveries with the help of four fours and four sixes. After the wickets of Sanju Samson and Steve Smith, it looked like Rajasthan would fail to reach the mark of 200 as they were at 178 for 7 at the end of 19th over.

However, the England pacer, Jofra Archer stunned everyone by smashing four consecutive sixes in the final over bowled by Lungi Ngidi. He hit first four balls for the sixes and the third and fourth sixes came on no-balls. Fortunately, Archer could not continue his six hittings in the remaining four balls.

While chasing the big target of 217 from just 20 overs, though CSK scored 53 runs in the powerplay, they were not favourites to win the game as they lost wickets at regular intervals.

While the wickets were falling at one end, Faf du Plessis continued to hit boundaries at the other end. However, other than Faf du Plessis, no one was able to connect the ball well like Steve Smith and Sanju Samson did for RR.

The skipper of CSK did not try to connect a single ball until Faf loses his wicket. After du Plessis lost his wicket, the right-hander decided to smash the balls all over the park. On the last over of Tom Curran, he smashed three consecutive sixes and one of them went to the streets of Sharjah.
