IPL Auction 2019: Twitterati goes in surprise after whopping 8.4 crores for Varun Chakravarthy

Varun Chakravarthy, another mystery spinner from India was the hot buy in the IPL auction 2019 as he was sold for a whopping 8.4 crores.

The hammering process for the Indian Premier League 2019 underwent in Jaipur. This time there were fewer expectations on the auction as most of the main players were retained by the franchises before the auction process.

However, the hammering process didn’t fail to make fans in surprise even without main players in the process. Bowlers were the main picks in the auction for highest prices. Indian pacer Jaydev Unadkat once again found his name among the big buys which had put everyone into quite a surprise.

But to break the surprise, a man from Tamilnadu Varun Chakravarthy came into the spotlight in the hammering process. The mystery spinner from Tamilnadu was sold for 8.4 crores for Kings XI Punjab.

Varun Chakaravarthy came into the auction with only Rs 20 lakhs base price and if his stats in the domestic cricket and TNPL are considered, he deserves all the amount which he has received.

Delhi Capitals, Chennai Super Kings, Kings XI Punjab, Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders bid for the bowler and finally the Punjab franchise managed to secure his services.
