Unlucky CCS suffers another loss
Brothers Union win almost a lost match over Cricket Coaching School. They beat CCS by 38 runs in the sixth round of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League at Sher – e Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur. This is the third win for Brothers Union. No wins for CCS yet now.
Cricket Coaching School captain Rajin Saleh won the toss and elected to bowl first at Mirpur. Brothers Union openers Imrul Kayes and Shahriar Nafees made a solid start to their innings adding 108 runs for the first wicket in 23.1 overs. Imrul missed out on his half-century scoring 49 off 68 balls with 7 fours. Captain Tushar Imran contributed 22 from 35 deliveries with 2 fours and a six.
In the meantime, Nafees reached to his fifty in 67 balls with 8 fours. He and Zakir Hasan added 60 runs for the fourth wicket. Zakir made 29 from 30 balls with 4 fours. Shahriar Nafees got his sixth List A century in 132 balls with 14 fours and 1 six. He batted till the last over before getting out. His innings ended at 134 runs off 147 deliveries including 14 fours and 5 sixes. Brothers Union put 253/6 in 50 overs. Saleh Ahmed Shawon himself scalped 4 wickets for 45 runs in ten overs.
Chasing 254, CCS lost both their openers Pinak Ghosh (1) at 7 and Amit Majumder (9) at 25. Then Saif Hassan and Salman Hossain put on 139-run stand for the third wicket. Salman made 68 runs off 89 balls with 5 fours and 1 six. Saif also got his half-century.
Saif scored 86 off 101 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes. Cricket Coaching School’s innings started to fall down after the departure of Salman Hossain. From 164/2, CCS were all-out for 215 in 47.2 overs. Brothers Union won by 38 runs. Nabil Samad, Asif Hasan and Milind Kumar shared two wickets each for Brothers Union.
