USA drop Marshall from central contracts list
Xavier Marshall started international cricket with great potential. He also played for the West Indies national cricket team for four years. But after 2009 he became out of selection in his own country.
After that, he repeatedly failed in his attempt to return to the national team and signed in USA cricket in 2018.
At the end of a year and a half, he became an integral part of the history of cricket in the United States. For the first time in their history, United States got ODI status with the help of his batting.
Marshall left his home country West Indies and settled in the United States. But his good times did not last long there either. Although United States was granted ODI status in April last year, Marshall lost his place in the board’s central contract after a year and a half.
With the exclusion of Marshall, the United States Cricket Board has released a list of central contracts for the period ending December 31, 2020. Marshall was on the list of five cricketers for the whole year given in last year’s central contract. But this time it was increased to eight people, but the 34-year-old marshal did not have a place.
According to various sources, the contract is valid till December 31, 2020, even though almost six months have passed due to coronavirus. Where contract players will get $1800 per month. Which is 60 to 75 percent less than last year’s salary.
Meanwhile, not only Marshall, but also captain Saurabh Netravalkari s not in the central contract. But the reason is different. He is a direct paid member of United States Cricket. Sourav is also contracted as a software developer at Oracle. He is not able to sign a contract with the cricket board because of this agreement with Oracle.
