Under Virat Kohli’s leadership, India scripted history by beating Australia by 2-1 in 2018-19. Yes, after 71 long years, India won a Test series in Australia. Since then, experts and former cricketers have started realising the true potential of India.

However, when Australia hosted the four-match Test series against India, everyone expected a tough battle between the two heavyweights. But, Australia stunned everyone by humiliating India in the first Test at Adelaide Oval.

India were bundled out for just 36, which was their lowest ever score in Test cricket. India suffered first defeat in the series under Virat Kohli’s captaincy. The skipper flew to India to attend the birth of his first child. Since then Ajinkya Rahane took charge and Team India looked like a different team altogether.

The way they composed themselves and the manner in which they applied tactics and strategy was well and truly unbelievable. India won the second Test in Melbourne and then settled for a fascinating draw in Sydney.

Michael Vaughan reacts after his prediction backfires

Ahead of the Border Gavaskar Trophy series, former England skipper Michael Vaughan came up with a crazy prediction adding that India would comfortably lose to Australia by 4-0. However, Indians proved him wrong by winning the Test series following a 3-wicket win at The Gabba.

After Vaughan’s prediction went wrong, the pundit himself took to Twitter to congratulate Team India. “Wow .. That has to go down as one of the greatest if not the greatest Test victory of all time !! Egg on my face over here in the UK .. but I love to see character & skill .. India have it in abundance .. btw @RealShubmanGill & @RishabhPant17 are future superstars !” tweeted Michael Vaughan.

The Indian team management announced the squad for the first two Test matches against England commencing from February 5. The likes of Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Ishant Sharma returned to the Test squad. Washington Sundar and Mohammed Siraj who performed quite well against Australia in the just-concluded Test series against Australia have also been named in the squad.
