Victory for England in their 1000th test match

England won their historical 1000th test match after all the dramas. Indians are now on a full tour to England. According to the schedules the first test match of the five match series started on August 1. The test match was the 1000th test match the host side.

Ben stokes celebrates  The hosts won the important toss and elected to bat first. In the first innings they managed to post 287 on the scoreboard with the help of Joe Root’s knock of 80 runs.

In reply the Indian batsmen struggled to score against the English seam bowlers except the Indian skipper Virat Kohli. The skipper managed to play a sensible knock of 149 runs after all the question on his techniques in England pitches. With his knock the visitors posted 274 in the scoreboard.

English men started their 2nd innings with a 13 run lead. But the Indian bowlers did a nice job to rattle all the England main batsmen for a few score. The left handed all-rounder Sam Curran played a much needed innings of 63 and guided the team total to 180 and set a target of 194 for the visitors.

In the chase the visitors were 110/5 at the end of day three. They started the chase with Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik on day three. But in the very first over James Anderson dismissed the Indian wicket keeper Dinesh Karthik. Then Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya managed to have a decent partnership between them in the context of the game. Virat Kohli scored much needed 51 runs like in the first innings.

All of a sudden the English pace bowling all-rounder did a magic with his bowling as he dismissed the Indian skipper for lbw. In the same Mohammed Shami also went out without troubling the score board. Then Hardik Pandya tried his level best with the tail enders but unfortunately he was trapped by Ben stokes as the last wicket of the day after making a handful of 31 runs.

In the end the hosts managed to seal the series opener by 31 runs. Ben Stokes led the English bowling attack with four wickets including that of Indian skipper. Sam Curran was awarded as the man of the match for his all-round performance of five wickets totally and a sensible knock of 63 runs in the second innings when the team was struggling.
