VIDEO: AB de Villiers’ powerfull shot reached boundary after hitting the stumps
During the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders, the wicket-keeper batsman, AB de Villiers hit the ball that smashed the stumps at the non-striker’s end and reached the boundary line through the covers.
Coming to the match, the skipper of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Virat Kohli elected to bat first after winning the toss. The openers of RCB, Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal provided them with a brisk start to their team.
Though the KKR bowlers bowled well, they could not take the wickets regularly. The openers added 67 runs for the first wicket before Padikkal losing his wicket to Russell. Aaron Finch and Virat Kohli could add just 27 runs for the second wickets.
Though their openers gave them a decent start, it was not good enough in this ground where the boundary sizes are short. However, the duo of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers added them about 100 runs in the last 7 overs.
While other batsmen like Aaron Finch and Virat Kohli struggled to middle the ball, the wicket-keeper batsman AB de Villiers smashed the KKR bowlers all over the park. AB de Villiers smashed his fifty from 22 balls and could score 73 off 33 deliveries at the end of 1st inning.
With the help of brilliant inning from Kohli and de Villiers, RCB posted a defendable total of 194 on their board.
While chasing the target of 195, the batsmen of KKR were put under pressure by the RCB bowlers. The young gun from England, Tom Banton opened the batting for his franchise but has struggled to bat in this slow pitch.
Their key players like Nitish Rana, Eoin Morgan, Dinesh Karthik and Andre Russell had no answers to the brilliant bowling from the RCB. Shubman Gill was in good form and smashed a couple of boundaries before being the victim of run-out.
Each and every bowler from Royal Challengers Bangalore performed well and picked up the wickets at the regular intervals. Royal Challengers Bangalore dominated the Dinesh Karthik-led KKR and beat them by 82 runs.
