VIDEO: David Warner reacts angrily after Riyan Parag’s celebration
In the thriller between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals, the young lad Riyan Parag stole the limelight by hitting a match-winning six for his franchise. After hitting a huge six over cover, the uncapped right-handed batsman celebrated a win with traditional Assamese Bihu dance form.
The skipper of Sunrisers Hyderabad, David Warner who already disappointed with the toss, was not happy with the celebration of Riyan Parag. He also looked disappointed with Khaleel Ahmed who bowled an easy full-toss when Rajasthan needed just two runs.
Coming to the match, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bat first against Rajasthan Royals. Though they lost their opener, Jonny Bairstow, earlier in the inning, the partnership between David Warner and Manish Pandey gave them a hope to score decent total.
David Warner who scored 48 and Manish Pandey who scored 54 failed to play till the 20th overs and lost their wickets at the crucial time. However, a couple of hits from Kane Williamson and Priyam Garg helped them to post a competitive total of 158 on their board.
While chasing against one of the best bowling attacks, the Rajasthan Royals took some interesting decision as they sent Ben Stokes along with Jos Buttler to open the innings.
However, both Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler failed badly as they could score just 5 and 16 runs respectively before losing their wickets to Khaleel Ahmed. Steve Smith and Sanju Samson, who are their key players while chasing, yet again failed to score runs.
Robin Uthappa, who made a comeback to the team, was looked in good touch but has thrown his wicket away after having a good start. At one stage, they were at 78 for 5 and almost lost all of their star players.
When everyone thought that the game was almost over for Rajasthan, the partnership between Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag changed the course of the game. Tewatia once again showed his class, scoring 45 runs off just 28 deliveries with the help of 4 boundaries and 2 sixes.
Riyan Parag provided good support to his partner by scoring 42 runs from 26 deliveries with the help of 2 fours and 2 maximums and helped them to win the game with 5 wickets in the hand. When the key players of Rajasthan Royals struggled to score against SRH, these two uncapped players played match-winning knocks for their team.
