Video: Josh pulls off soccer skills to run out Khawaja

Sometimes, it is good to possess more than one skill in life. Had it not been for Perth Scorchers wicket-keeper batsman Josh Inglis’ football skills, he would not have effected a run-out to dismiss Usman Khawaja.

Yes, basic football skills was all that he required to pull off something spectacular during the 54th match of the ongoing ninth season of the Big Bash League between Sydney Thunder and Perth Scorchers in Sydney.

The drama unfolded on the penultimate delivery of the ninth over when Sydney Thunder opening batsman Usman Khawaja attempted a late cut off Scorchers all-rounder Ashton Agar. Having smashed the ball, the southpaw thought of taking a single but it wasn’t meant to be as Inglis stopped the ball with his left leg, showing that he can control the ball deftly.

Inglis not only prevented the single but also stopped the ball with his foot and then he picked it up and smashed the bails as Khawaja was short of the crease.
