Video: Kohli’s sharp run-out sends Munro back to the hut
Indian captain Virat Kohli is a terrific fielder of the Indian cricket team. He has been sharp and decisive on the cricket field since India’s home assignment against Australia. He had taken sharp catches while also saving so many runs on the field. During India’s tour of New Zealand, it was no surprise as Virat Kohli showcased his fielding skills at the right place and at the right time.
During the fourth T20I of ongoing India’s tour of New Zealand in Wellington, India captain went one step ahead in intensity in his fielding approach and outsmarted New Zealand opening batsman Colin Munro with a brilliant piece of run-out.
The drama unfolded during the fourth delivery of the 12th over when left-handed batsman Colin Munro middled a ball off India all-rounder Shivam Dube towards sweeper cover region.
However, it could have easily been two runs under normal situations but it wasn’t meant to be. Shardul Thakur, who was fielding at the boundary line quickly picked the ball and threw it towards the non-striker’s end. With Indian captain Virat Kohli standing at the cover, the latter collected the ball midway and then threw it towards the striker’s end and ended up hitting the stumps at the best scene.
