Video: Quinton de Kock takes a terrific catch to dismiss Buttler

In the Boxing Day Test between South Africa and England, Quinton de Kock stole the spotlight for taking an absolute gem of a catch behind the stumps. He showcased sheer brilliance on the field to take a stellar catch to send Jos Buttler at the best scene. South Africa bowlers ripped through the defences of England’s batting brigade as the visitors were exposed on the second day.

On the other hand, South Africa took giant strides forward and upped the ante to a great extent in the Boxing Day Test. By the time when Joe Root and his team walked off on Friday, they had been bundled out for a paltry 181 and conceded a 103-run lead. In reply, South Africa expanded the lead to over 175 by ending the day on 72 for 4.

The batsmen failed to have complete control over the game and it clearly appears that Quinton de Kock’s 95 in the first-innings could turn out to be a match-winning knock.

Having impressed everyone with the bat in the game, De Kock displayed street-smart wicketkeeping to end Jos Buttler’s innings. In the process, De Kock also levelled Mark Boucher’s record of most dismissals in an innings at Centurion.

“Mark Boucher’s most dismissals in an innings at Centurion: 6️ Quinton de Kock’s most dismissals in an innings at Centurion: 6️ Two LEGENDARY glovemen, icons of the game 🙌 Hit ❤️ to congratulate de Kock’s on his achievement. #ProteaFire #SAvENG,” Cricket South Africa took to its official Twitter handle to post the video.
