The previous edition turned out to be a disastrous season for RCB as they finished at the bottom of the points table as they tasted more bitter defeats (8) than the number of wins (5). They are yet to make the playoffs stage ever since qualifying for the final back in the year 2016.

Regardless of their performances, their fans are still turning up in numbers and supporting their franchise through and through. The slogan became popular last year when the fans continued to chant the same slogan despite the poor performance from the side.

Meanwhile, Dale Steyn chanted RCB’s popular slogan after a Big Bash League match. Steyn won RCB fans’ hearts by chanting their slogan ahead of the upcoming season. Steyn, who is in Australia, plying his trade for the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League, was seen signing autographs at the end of the Melbourne derby before an RCB fan asked him to chant, RCB’s famous slogan, ‘Ee Sala Cup Namde’, translating to English- ‘This year, the cup is ours’.

The veteran fast bowler happily chanted the line two times before going on to add “Go RCB!”.

Steyn was drafted in by Royal Challengers Bangalore at his base price of INR 1.5 crore in the third round of last month’s auction. This will be his third time he will be playing for the club after starting his IPL career with RCB back in 2008 before joining as an injury replacement last year.
