Virat Kohli eyes major milestone
Kohli is just two wins away from surpassing former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni to become India’s most successful Test captain.
The present skipper have 26 wins under his belt in 46 matches while Dhoni led India to 27 victories in 60 Tests.
In case India would both of the matches in the series, Kohli will go past Dhoni’s tally to become the most successful Test captain for India.
There are other milestones luring for Indian cricketers. Left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja needs eight more wickets to complete the mark of 200 Test wickets and become the tenth Indian bowler to do so.
He has now 192 wickets from 41 Tests.
Meanwhile Ravichandran Ashwin is eight wickets far from becoming the fourth Indian bowler to claim 350 Test wickets. He has 342 wickets from 65 Tests now. Only Anil Kumble, Kapil Dev and Harbhajan Singh have crossed the mark of 350 Test wickets.
Jasprit Bumrah stands on 49 wickets after appearing in 10 Tests. If he could grab one more wicket in the first Test of the series which would be his 11th, Bumrah would become the second fastest Indian bowler to get 50 Test wickets. Ashwin is the fastest Indian to have 50 Test wickets, getting there in his ninth match.
Meanwhile Rishabh Pant could become the fastest Indian wicket keeper to have 50 dismissals in Tests if he claims eight more in the two match Test sereis against West Indies.
In nine Tests Pant played so far, he has 42 dismissals (40 catches, two stumpings). For India, the fastest to 50 dismissals is Dhoni who needed 15 Test matches.
