Virat Kohli wears shorts in toss, fans slam in twitter

On Thursday, Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been slammed by cricket fans to go out for toss wearing shorts in the warm up game against Cricket Australia XI.

The four day match, started after the first day which was washed out by rain.

Fans rushed to the social media to express dissatisfaction over the act pointing to examples of various previous occasions where cricket greats insisted upon respectful behavior in the field.

Earlier this year, Indian batting great Sunil Gavaskar took a hand of Fakhar Zaman for not wearing his cap properly during a match in the Asia Cup.

One of the fans wrote, “you are amazing but it doesn’t mean that you will forget the basics ! Wearing shorts in a toss during a warmup match is completely not acceptable! You still have a long career ahead and I am sure you will break all the records !!!”

“Kohli should hv been in a long Kurta for the toss..with shorts. Imagine!,” another one tweeted.

Another wrote, “Disgraceful and disrespectful… There was time captains used to wear Blazers during toss…. This behavior is absolutely unpardonable….”

At the Sydney Cricket Ground, the visitors were bowled out scoring 358 after skipper Kohli and youngster Prithvi Shaw bounced back with half centuries.

Kohli struck 64 while Shaw made 66.

India and Australia will feature in a four match Test series starting from December 6 at the Adelaide Oval.

The two sides will face each other in three one day internationals. The tour will come to an end at January 18.
