Taskin has only played four Tests so far since making his debut in this year against New Zealand and managed to take seven wickets in eight innings. He said at the press conference that Test cricket is a difficult place to play.
“I haven’t played much Tests. After playing four Tests, I find this format is very difficult. It’s a difficult place. Fitness and consistency have to be maintained here. Patience and skills are also needed to maintain. You have to play according to plans,” he said.
The right-arm seamer targets the Australian duo, captain Steve Smith and vice-captain David Warner as dream wickets. He wants to bowl a match-winning spell in the series, which consists two Tests.
“Every wicket is important in Test cricket. All of their top-order batsmen are in good touch. Warner and Smith are my dream wickets. Their newcomers also did well. If I get a chance, I want to bowl a match-winning spell.
“Match-winning spell doesn’t mean taking five or seven wickets. Like if a partnership has been set after fall of 5-7 wickets taken by the spinners, I will help my team if I break the stand and take two wickets. I want to do something like this,” he added.
