Earlier the Warriors batsmen showed up a clinical performance after being sent to bat first by Blasters skipper Sachin Tendulkar who won the toss.
Sri Lanka’s legendary wicketkeeper-batsman Kumar Sangakkara rampened the all through bowling attack composed of Shoaib Akhter, Glenn McGrath and Shaun Pollock, hitting 6 sixes and 6 fours all around the ground.
Before then former English captain Michael Vaughan along with Aussie maestro Mathew Hayden put up a solid stand of 50 run in the opening partnership before both of them departed in their thirties.
Ricky Ponting fired quickly in his 41 with 5 fours and 3 sixes, playing just 16 balls. At the ultimate phase of Warriors innings, Symonds and Rhodes raised rapid runs on the board. Both of them were unbeaten at 19 and 18 respectively.
Lance Klusner was the most successful bowler of the Blasters – taking 2 for 45 runs.
Sachin Blasters were never been in the real chase for the victory – with a formidable target of 262 runs in front of them, all the top five batsmen lost their wickets in their twenties except skipper Sachin Tendulkar who put some real effort.
Playing 20 balls, Sachin scored 33 runs with 3 fours and 2 sixes. Shaun Pollock, in the later middle order started crashing Warriors bowling. He hammered 7 sixes along with a four in his 55 run innings. Andrew Symonds stopped the destruction in the 19th over leading the Warriors to a victory of 57 runs at the end.
