Was sad after being unsold: Tahir

VIVO IPL team Rising Pune Supergiant’s South African recruit Imran Tahir has revealed that he was unhappy when he was unsold at the IPL 2017 auction in February.

Tahir was released from last year’s squad by Delhi Daredevils. No team showed interest in picking the world number one bowler in this year’s auction. The passionate leg-spinner has expressed his emotions about it.

“If I say I was okay (at being unsold), I will be lying. I am human at the end of the day. I was sad when the auction happened, the last two years I have been performing. And it’s not me saying that, the stats that are saying that,” Tahir said at a press conference.

“I left my family back and came here. I can’t become more serious than that. So, if I left them, then I am here to do my job. It’s not that I am here to prove something. I wanted to be here to challenge and see as to what was the reason for me not being picked.

“For me, life moves on,” he added.

Tahir has picked five wickets in his first two games for RPS. He got three against Mumbai Indians and took two wickets against Kings XI Punjab.
