The match was delayed by more than an hour. The game was reduced to 18 overs-a side. Hosts opted to bat first. Seamers Mohammad Saifuddin and Shoriful Islam made early inroads as Ireland A lost 3 for 44.

Experienced William Porterfield and Simi Singh fought back with a 111-run fourth-wicket stand. Porterfield top-scored with 79 runs from 39 deliveries hitting 12 fours and 2 sixes. Simi batted till the end scoring 41-ball 67* with 7 fours and 2 sixes as Ireland posted 183/5 on board. Saifuddin bagged four wickets for 28 runs.

In reply, skipper Soumya Sarkar and Mohammad Mithun made a terrific platform for Bangladesh A by adding 117 runs for the opening wicket. Soumya hit 2 fours and 4 maximums in his 30-ball 47-run knock. Mithun carried on and made career best 80 runs off 39 balls hitting 7 fours and 6 sixes.

Al-Amin jnr (21*) and Mominul Haque (11*) finished off the match with seven balls to spare. Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Zakir Hasan didn’t do much with the bat. Shane Getkate took 3 for 36.

Bangladesh A drew the one-dayers 2-2 with Ireland before winning the T20s. Soumya was named Player of the Series for scoring 115 runs in the T20 series.
