Captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza played a major role in Bangladesh’s win. He scored 44 runs off 29 balls hitting 2 fours and 3 sixes with the bat. Mahmudullah Riyad played a very important knock scoring 75 runs off 88 balls with 6 fours. Bangladesh put 238 for 8 on board after being sent to bat.

Mashrafe was the star with the ball in hand too. He picked three early wickets in the powerplay 1 to put England on back foot.

His fourth and last wicket came in the fourth ball of the 45th over when England were eyeing a hope with the last wicket. Mashrafe bowled an off-cutter full on the stumps, Jake Ball hit the ball in the air. Nasir Hossain took the catch ahead of the boundary line in the off-side.

Tigers creep nearer to triumph

Nasir Hossain snatched his first wicket of the match when he saw the back of Moeen Ali in the 27th over. Moeen attempted to pull a shortish ball, got an edge that traveled to mid-on where Shakib took a splendid catch behind him.

The game was over for England. Bangladesh won the second match by 34 runs to level the three-match ODI series at 1-1.
