Watch Bangladesh's 100th ODI victory moment

Bangladesh have finally got their 100th ODI win beating Afghanistan in the final ODI of Rocket series at Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Tigers seal the series by 2-1. Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza decided to bat first after winning the toss at SBNCS. Bangladesh lost the wicket of Soumya Sarkar, who scored 11. The score was 23/1 after 5.5 overs. Sabbir Rahman was prompted up the order, at number 3.

Tamim Iqbal and Sabbir Rahman added 140 runs for the second wicket which is the second highest for this wicket for Bangladesh in ODIs. Tamim brought up his half-century in 63 balls with 5 fours. Sabbir scored his third ODI fifty in 67 balls. He made 65 off 79 hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes.

Tamim built up his innings. He went on to score his 7th ODI hundred in 110 balls. He scored 118 runs from 118 deliveries. His innings included 11 fours and 2 sixes. He is now the holder of having most centuries in ODIs for Bangladesh.

Since Tamim’s departure, Tigers started to slip away from getting a big total. In the end, Mahmudullah Riyad’s cameo 22-ball unbeaten 32 with 4 fours helped Bangladesh post 279 for 8 in 50 overs. Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi and Mirwais Ashraf took two wickets each for Afghanistan.

Chasing a challenging total of 280, Afghanistan’s Mohammad Shahzad became the first scalp for Bangladesh as Mashrafe Bin Mortaza bowled him. Nawroz Mangal and Rahmat Shah added 47 runs for the second wicket.

After being 52/1, the visitors started to fall down from the match. Mosharraf Hossain Rubel, who is coming back to International cricket after eight years started to create problems. Afghan batsmen failed to make big partnerships.

Afghanistan were bowled out for 138 runs in 33.5 overs. Rahmat Shah and Nawroz Mangal were the top-scorers for their side scoring 36 and 33. Mosharraf Hossain shone on his comeback match taking 3 wickets for 24 runs in eight overs. Taskin Ahmed took 2 for 31.

Bangladesh won by 141 runs. This is the fourth highest win for Tigers in terms of runs. This is also their 100th ODI win in their history. Mashrafe’s men have now won six consecutive home ODI series.
