Watch: Bizarre run-out in Vitality Blast
Cricket has seen quite a lot of bizarre dismissals over the years. Sometimes, those dismissals appear to be strange and sometimes hilarious. In the end, out is out!
Cut to the ongoing season of the Vitality Blast, a weird dismissal was witnessed during Sussex vs Hampshire match at Hove.
Now let’s learn about Lewis McManus’s brilliant run-out that is taking social media by a storm.
During the course of the South Group season of the Vitality Blast, a fixture between Sussex and Hampshire at Hove witnessed a strange run-out, probably the strangest one ever.
While Sussex batsman identified as Laurie Evans became the victim of the dismissal, he couldn’t just believe his eyes after getting run-out in such a strange manner.
He couldn’t understand what really was going on and in the blink of an eye, he was gone just like that!
The incident took place in the second delivery of the 10th over when Evans was totally tricked by Mason Crane’s delivery. As the batsman lacked clarity where the ball had gone after beating his judgement, Evans attempted to take a single after he learnt that the ball went past the wicketkeeper. But hang on! It didn’t!
Hampshire wicket-keeper Lewis McManus’ presence of mind helped him affect a brilliant run-out. Evans, who came at No. 3 in the sixth over, ended up scoring just 15 (12) with a couple of fours.
