Dhaka remain unbeaten with fourth win in a row
A comfortable 32-run against Sylhet Sixers keeps Dhaka Dynamites unbeaten in the sixth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
After winning the toss, Shakib Al Hasan opted to bat first. Dhaka lost Hazratullah Zazai early, but Sunil Narine and Rony Talukder started their innings with all guns blazing.
With 5 fours and 3 sixes, Rony hammered 58 off just 34 balls while Narine scored 25 off 21. The Dhaka Dynamites skipper played a small cameo of 23 from 17 before departing to Al-Amin.
When Dhaka were on their way to post a massive score, Taskin Ahmed brought breakthrough twice in an over and put Sylhet back into the game.
However, in the end, Nurul (18*) and Naim Sheikh (25*) managed to take Dhaka to a healthy total of 173 runs in their 20 overs.
In reply, Sylhet Sixers’ skipper David Warner lost his wicket in the first over after hitting a six off Shakib. And the wickets kept going since then.
Nasir Hossain (1), Liton Das (9) and Sabbir Rahman’s (12) terrible form continues in the tournament. Windies youngster Nicholas Pooran kept fighting all alone for the Sixers and hit some massive blows to keep some hopes alive.
With 1 four and 9 massive sixes, Pooran scored 72 off just 47 balls. But it wasn’t enough for the Sixers as they fell short of their target by 32 runs.
