Watch: Dhawan and Shastri reveal Kohli’s favourite music
Indian skipper Virat Kohli who has been creating new records and carving out a reputation for himself as a world-class batsman has now entered the rare list of cricketers who have a stand or pavilion dedicated to their name.
The Indian captain received the honour during the renaming ceremony of the iconic Feroz Shah Stadium to Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Home Minister Amit Shah was the special chief guest, Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju was the Guest of Honour for the ceremony and in fact, the Indian cricket team marked its presence at the ceremony.
Speaking during the event, the extremely-delighted Virat Kohli was running short of words after receiving the honour. “Never thought I would be honoured at such a grand scale. Don’t know how to address this as my family, wife, brother, sister-in-law are here,” Kohli said.
To make the function a bit more interesting and entertaining, anchor Manish Paul had asked India chief coach Ravi Shastri about Virat Kohli’s favourite music playlist particularly when he’s in a calm mood.
“Make Shikhar Dhawan sit with him and see the enjoyment. There will be plentiful songs. He is sitting in the second row. Ask him,” Ravi Shastri was quoted as saying.
The focus then moved on from head coach Ravi Shastri to opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan. Known for the knack of brilliant humour, Shikhar Dhawan didn’t shy away from everyone burst into laughter instantly. “Before the wedding or after the wedding,” Dhawan hilariously counter-questioned to Paul.
“Virat [Kohli] is fond of listening to Punjabi songs. He really likes Gurdas Maan sahab’s songs. He likes love songs. He is a fan of Arijit Singh. Whenever we are sitting in the room, he listens to these singers. Then there are other Punjabi songs as well,” Shikhar Dhawan said.
