Ashwin vs Dhawan

In the recently-concluded game between Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Capitals, the cricket fraternity witnessed a bizarre incident in the 13th over. To be frank, Shikhar Dhawan was in the crease when Ashwin, all of a sudden stopped while bowling and made a small-action as if to ‘Mankad’ Shikhar Dhawan.

Dhawan who is known for his funny moves on the field bent down on one knee and shook his body, after which he mocked Ashwin as he ran up to bowl the next ball by doing a bizarre dance.

Dhawan set the platform for Delhi

Shikhar Dhawan scored 56 off 41 balls which bolstered 92-run second-wicket partnership with skipper Shreyas Iyer, who powered the innings with an unbeaten 58 off 49 balls and helped the team to get past the finishing line. Iyer was named the man of the match.

Chris Gayle’s 37-ball 69 with as many as 5 sixes and 5 fours to his crunchy standards of power-hitting guided Kings XI Punjab to 163/7 but the score was just enough as Delhi Capitals aced the chase in 19.4 overs and won by five wickets.

Well, this was Delhi Capitals’ second win at home this season in five away games and sixth overall in the ongoing season. They are now placed third on the table with 12 points while KXIP stand on fourth with 10 points (5 wins and 5 losses).

Delhi Capitals take on Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur on April 22 while Punjab take on RCB at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on April 24 (Wednesday).
