When Mohammad Saifuddin took the last wicket of Zimbabwe, all the players of Bangladesh team had the eye on. Mashrafe came running from where he was fielding. Everyone was shaking hands with their favorite captain. Tamim Iqbal then took Mashrafe to the shoulder. Others were with him. Mashrafe left the field on the shoulder of Tamim.

As was previously known, Mashrafe’s last match as captain in international cricket. So the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) was well prepared.

BCB made special jerseys for team players on the occasion of Mashrafe’s departure. “Thank you Captain”, written in English in front of this jersey. Mashrafe’s name and jersey number written behind it.

Mashrafe’s 2 no. jersey had been the the trademark of Bangladesh cricket. Bangladeshi cricketers showed the greatness of that jersey. That’s how BCB and Bangladesh team cricketers bid farewell to Mashrafe on Friday.

The whole team, together with Mashrafe, formed a circle. The team handed over a jersey to Mashrafe as a gift from the national team. The jersey in which all the players’ autographs were sparkling.

BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papan came to the field and handed over a crest to Mashrafe on behalf of the BCB. This time, the entire team stood in a row and clasped the last match of Mashrafe’s captaincy.

Mashrafe passed a busy time in his last match as captain. Everyone was busy including players, journalists, staffs and others to take a picture with him and get an autograph from him. Whole Zimbabwe team also captured a photo with Mashrafe.

Mashrafe later said he did not know about the arrangements. Standing in the midst of such a crowd, Mashrafe told the game broadcasters, “It is an honor. That seems to be my best honor in the field. Thanks to the Cricket Board. Thanks to my boys. They are wonderful.”
