Hardik Pandya comeback to competitive cricket
India all-rounder Hardik Pandya, opener Shikhar Dhawan and pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who are all recovering from injuries, turned up on Friday for their side Reliance 1.

Alongside the 26-year-old, who has not played the game since September last year because of injury and missed the chance of playing in India’s ongoing tour of New Zealand, star India players Shikhar Dhawan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are also representing Reliance 1 in the competition.

Hardik, coming out to bat at No.4 with his side struggling at 38 for two, smacked a promising 38 off just 25 deliveries with an strike rate of 152. His knock included one four and as many as four sixes.

On his way, Hardik also stitched a 53-run stand for the third wicket with Saurabj Tiwary.

Though Hardik took time to settle on the crease and scored only 7 runs off his first 12 deliveries, he picked up pace soon with two massive sixes of Varun Sood’s over. Later he smashed two more over boundaries off the same bowler in the 13th over. Eventually he returned to the pavilion being caught at long-on.

With Team India set to return to the limited-overs action against South Africa at home next month, all eyes will be on Hardik provided he could make it to the three-match ODI series against the Proteas.
