Watch Highlights: South Africa vs England, World T20

England pulled off a scintillating display of run-chase against South Africa in their second match of the ICC World T20 2016. An over-the-moon Joe Root helped the England Lions march past the 230-run target with two balls to spare. [এই ম্যাচের ফুল স্কোরকার্ড দেখুন এখানে]

Chasing a monstrous target thrown by the Proteas, England sailed to victory in just 19.4 overs. Apart from Root’s unbelievable 83-run knock off 44 balls with the help of 4 sixes and 6 fours, opener Jason Roy also chipped in with major contribution of 43 runs from just 16 balls (5 fours, 3 sixes) to make the seemingly impossible task possible.

For the Proteas bowlers, it was nothing short of a disastrous day. Kagiso Rabada conceded 50 runs to scalp two wickets, while Kyle Abbott took three for 41. Still they couldn’t bar England from making record of highest ever run-chase in World T20 history, second highest overall.

Earlier in the evening after losing the toss and coming into bat first, South Africa posted a mammoth total of 229 runs for the loss of four wickets in their 20 overs, riding on three stormy half centuries from Quinton de Kock, Hashim Amla and JP Duminy, followed by a tornado 12-ball 28 from David Miller (2 fours, 2 sixes).
