Watch: Hope involves in a whimsical run out
Windies right-handed batsman Shai Hope involved in a funny run out in the first T20I against India in Eden Gardens in the three-match T20I series.
The three-match T20I series between India and Windies has started in Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected field first. After electing to bowl first Indian bowlers had a dominant hand over the visitors in their innings.
Indian bowlers kept taking wickets in regular intervals right from the beginning. To add more fuel into the fire, Windies right-handed batsman Shai Hope returned to the pavilion after involving in a comical run out with his partner Shimron Hetmyer.
The funny incident happened during the fourth over which was bowled by Khaleel Ahmed. Khaleel bowled a good length delivery on the leg for Shai Hope. He worked it to the leg side and KL Rahul collected it at mid-wicket.
But in the meantime, there was a confusion between the batsmen in the middle of the pitch and suddenly both the batsmen ran towards the bowling end and made an easy chance for the visitors.
KL had all the time in the world to throw it at the striker’s end, instead, he lobbed it well over DK’s head who slipped as he jumped. Manish was backing up from the point, collects the ball, runs at the stumps and breaks it.
Finally, Shai Hope had to pay the price as Shimron Hetmyer made it passed the stumps before Shai Hope in the same end. Shai Hope returned back only on 14 after having a good start.
