Watch: Imran Tahir gives angry send-off to Shadab Khan in PSL

Experienced and crafty leg-spinner Imran Tahir doesn’t shy away from doing his trademark running celebration after he takes a wicket. In fact, he loves his epic running celebration more than anything else. Imran Tahir’s antics was witnessed during the 22nd match of the ongoing fifth season of the Pakistan Super League between Multan Sultans and Islamabad United in Rawalpindi.

Multan Sultans’ veteran spinner Tahir was pumped up after dismissing Islamabad United skipper Shadab Khan. The drama unfolded on the very third ball of the seventh over when Shadab Khan’s desperate attempt of switching gears saw him lofting Tahir delivery towards Sultans all-rounder Moeen Ali at the long-off region as the latter grabbed it in his safe pair of hands. As Shadab Khan was dismissed, Tahir took his celebration by adding a bit of aggression in his send-off.

Shadab Khan who came out to bat at No. 3 in the third over, ended up scoring 14 (12) with the help of one four. Having registered impressive bowling figures of 2-0-13-2, Imran Tahir was the pick of the Sultans’ bowlers. Besides the 40-year old spinner, Multan pacer Junaid Khan and Moeen Ali picked two and one wicket respectively.

After Sultans skipper Shan Masood won the toss and opted to field in a nine-over game, Islamabad United managed to put up 91/7. Colin Munro, who opened the batting with Luke Ronchi (18), top-scored for his team with 25 (12) with the help of one four and three sixes.

Coming to the second innings, Multan opener James Vince’s 36th T20 fifty has offered them with a stellar start and have put them in a pole position to win the match.
