In the eliminator 2 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Peshawar Zalmi have beaten Karachi Kings to qualify in the final for the second time in a row and this means the winner of PSL 1 will take on the winner of PSL 2 in the final of PSL 3.
The eliminator 2 started after a long delay due to rain and also lost 4 overs. But as soon as the match started, it started raining only but it was not from the clouds, it was the raining of sixes from Kamran Akmal’s bat.
Both the openers started onslaught right from the word go with Akmal hitting the bowlers all over the park. While Fletcher played a steady knock of 34 runs from 30 balls, on the other side Akmal playing a blistering knock of 77 runs off just 27 balls including 8 massive sixes and it guided the team to a massive score of 170 in 16 overs.
In reply, Karachi Kings lost their opener Mukhtar Ahmed early but then the partnership of Joe Denly and Babar Azam continued almost till the end and both the batsman scored fifties. But in the end, it still wasn’t enough for the Kings to chase down the massive score. Denly remained unbeaten in the end with 79 runs under his belt off just 46 balls.
The opener of Bangladesh Tamim Iqbal missed out today due to injury and he is already on his way to Bangkok for checkup. But it has been said that Tamim is likely to be available in the final.
