Rajshahi Kings humble Comilla Victorians by 38 runs in the first match of the second phase in Dhaka in BPL 2019.

An unbeaten 104 runs innings by Laurie Evans, the first century of the Bangladesh Premier League this season, handed Rajshahi Kings to store a handsome total on the board after the opposition captain won the toss and sent them to bat first.

The Kings lost three wickets early, all they had to offer in this particular occasion, before Evans and ten Doeschate extended their outright dominance.

The undetached fourth wicket partnership added 148 runs, ending the 20 overs at 176 runs. ten Doeschate made 59.

Restraining the momentum all by himself, Laurie Evans stole the show; overshadowing big guns of the competition like the one of Chris Gayle, the 31 year Sussex County batsman slammed the first hundred of this year’s league.

Replying to the total went difficult for the Victorians when Tamim Iqbal went to the pavilion in the sixth over. After that, wickets tumbling down for Comilla regularly against Kamrul Islam Rabbi and Qais Ahmed. They shared six wickets in between them with Kamrul taking 4 conceding just 10 runs bowling 3 overs.

Comilla Victorians’ innings lasted 2 balls stretching 19th over by the time all of their batsmen returned to the den.

Anamul Haque and Tamim Iqbal scored 26 and 25 respectively.

Riding on the win, Rajshahi Kings jumped to the fourth position in the point table although Comilla Victorians’ spot remained unchanged after seven match.
