Watch: Kohli puts on dance shoes when rain stopped play
Rain and Virat Kohli played the spoilsport in the first ODI between India and West Indies. In the picturesque Guyana Providence Stadium, Indian skipper was caught in the camera having earnest dance moves with the evaporating DJ musics as rain stopped the field action.
Kohli was jamming to the Caribbean beats, nearing Chris Gayle for some accompaniment while rest of the players were waiting for umpires to resume play.
The Indian maestro even danced around with the ground staff working hard to soak the outfield. Later, Kedar Jadhav joined Kohli in flaunting a few of his own moves.
As for the match situation, the ODI was eventually washed out after 13 overs of play with West Indies reaching 54/1.
Veteran opening batsman Gayle who was appearing in his 299th limited over encounter, was the single wicket lost by the home team. He was bowled by left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav scoring four. He, was, however, nine runs short of becoming the highest ODI run-scorer of West Indies surpassing Brian Lara.
Legendary Lara’s tally is 10,405 now.
Evin Lewis was unbeaten on 40 off 36 deliveries hitting three sixes and two fours in partnership with Shai Hope when the match was called off.
The second ODI is scheduled to take place on 11 August.
