This season’s Bangladesh Premier League is heading towards the knock stages with some group games left to be played. In the 33rd match of the league, Khulna Titans took on Comilla Victorians at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram.

Khulna Titans won the toss and opt to bowl first and the match turned out to be a high scoring game. Openers provided a solid start for Comilla Victorians with a fifty partnership. Tamim Iqbal gone for 25 runs after a good start.

Anamul Haque went for a golden duck soon after the wicket of Tamim Iqbal. But Evin Lewis took the stage and it was a one-man show from the Caribbean. He had a good partnership with Imrul Kayes.

The Windies opener smashed the ball all over the park and registered a magnificent ton. He remained not out till the innings and scored 109 runs off 49 balls including 5 fours and 10 sixes with a whopping strike rate of 222.45.

In the end, Shamsur Rahman also played a decent cameo of 28 runs off 15 balls with a strike rate nearly 180. In the end, Comilla Victorians were at 237/5 and set a huge target for Khulna Titans.

In the long chase, Khulna Titans also had a good start from the openers. Brendon Taylor went onto score a well fought fifty but failed to convert it into a match-winning one.

Apart from Brendon Taylor, no other batsman from Khulna Titans failed to make big contributions to chase down the target. In the end, they managed to score only 157 runs and were bowled out. That resulted in an 80 runs win for Comilla Victorians. To add more flavor into Comilla’s win, Wahab Riyaz took a hat-trick to dismiss the tail of Khulna Titans.
