Watch: Miraz’s fourth 5-wicket haul

Bangladesh have finally had smiles on their faces after dominating the first session of the second day of Jamaica Test. Windies have been struck down to 354 from overnight score of 295/4.

Windies were lost only four wickets for 295 runs on the first day credited by Kraigg Brathwaite’s second hundred in the series. Bangladesh bowlers hit back strongly in the second morning.

Abu Jayed Rahi got Shimron Hetmyer caught behind, who was seeking his first Test ton. The left-hander made 105-ball 86 runs with 9 fours and a six. Hetmyer’s overnight partner Roston Chase was also dismissed by Rahi.

The spinners played a vital role in Windies’ collapse to 319/9 from 297/5. Mehidy Hasan Miraz bagged three wickets on Thursday. He added debutant Keemo Paul and Miguel Cummins to his tally to pick up his fourth five-wicket haul, his first in overseas.

The last wicket partnership of Jason Holder and Shannon Gabriel added valuable 35 runs which frustrated Bangladesh. Jayed took Gabriel’s wicket to finish off the innings at 354 runs in 112 overs. Skipper Holder hit unbeaten 33* runs off 42 balls.

Bangladesh openers Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das survived two overs from Gabriel and Paul. The tourists are 10/0 in two overs at lunch.
