However, Windies this time around started off exceedingly well and both the openers Shai Hope and Sunil Ambris looked in good touch. While for Bangladesh, the bowling department looked absolutely ordinary without their main man Shakib Al Hasan and none of the bowlers failed to produce anything magical in a pitch which is ideal for batting.

Windies were 131 runs at one stage without loss of any wicket and were well in course to give Bangladesh a huge score to chase. Then came in rain and interrupted the match. In the end, the match started nearly after five hours and Windies got the opportunity to bat for only four more overs as the match was reduced to 24 overs.

It turned into a tough challenge for Bangladesh as the revised target was 210 runs in 24 overs. The Tigers had to shift their geat to T20 playing style and they managed it do quite well.

Soumya Sarkar started the party and was in clinical touch right from the word go while Tamim Iqbal supported him well before departing for 18. Soumya meanwhile, scored his third fifty in a row against Windies and with 9 fours and 3 sixes, he played a scintillating knock of 66 off just 41 balls.

Sabbir Rahman was promoted to number 3 as Shakib was not playing today, but the batsman couldn’t utilize the chances as he was departed for a duck. While Mushfiqur Rahim played a superb cameo of 36 off 22 balls before departing to Reifer.

However, the surprise package was Mosaddek Hossain, who stole the show today with a thunderous knock. The youngster looked sloppy at the start but as the innings progressed, the confident looking batsman thrashed Ashley Nurse out of the park with a 6,6,4 and 6 in an over. He also reached to his fifty in 23 balls, which is the fastest as a Bangladeshi.
